SUMMARY:An Introduction to the Trinity - Theology Conference
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to have Dr. Malcom and Karen Yarnell as our keynote speakers. \nMalcolm and Karen Yarnell of Benbrook\, Texas serve their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as teachers and authors. They are blessed to be the earthly parents of such virtuous young men as Truett\, Matthew\, and Graham\, and of such gracious young women as Kathryn and Elizabeth and their daughters-in-law\, Ashlyn and Victoria. \nMalcolm serves the churches of the Southern Baptist Convention as Research Professor of Theology at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth\, Texas\, and the Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury\, Texas\, as Teaching Pastor. Malcolm’s most recent book is a biblical theology\, Who Is the Holy Spirit? (Nashville\, 2019). His most widely reviewed volumes include a biblical theology\, God the Trinity (Nashville\, 2016); an historical theology\, Royal Priesthood in the English Reformation (Oxford\, 2014); and a theological method\, The Formation of Christian Doctrine (Nashville\, 2007). Dr. Yarnell has written or edited 25 other volumes and has published over 150 other academic and popular essays. The 40 PhD students he mentors now serve as university and church leaders not only in the United States but also in Germany\, Ukraine\, China\, Korea\, and Nigeria. \nKaren serves Southwestern Seminary as Adjunct Professor of Women’s Studies\, focusing upon courses in the Old Testament and the New Testament as well as the introductory wife of the minister course. She is a popular speaker for women’s conferences and has contributed essays on the Trinity\, on women as teachers\, and on family Bible teaching. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas and a Master of Divinity degree from the Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest\, North Carolina. She also studied applied theology at the University of Oxford\, England\, and is currently working upon her Master of Theology\, focusing upon the writings of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. \n\nThis conference will be an introduction to the Trinity at Wai’alae Baptist Church on March 19-20\, 2021. \n\nRegistration will open soon.

DESCRIPTION:Will your children hold fast to the Christian faith or be overwhelmed by non-Christian influences flooding from seemingly everywhere? The percentage of Christian young people who abandon the faith once they graduate from high school is increasingly dramatically. What can you do to help? At this conference\, Richard Ross will help families learn \n       · the necessity of strong heart connections (relationships) between parents and their children \n       · how these heart connections become damaged even in Christian homes \n       · how to restore damaged connections and center parent-child relationships on Jesus Christ and God’s Word \nWe invite families to come and learn how to prepare the next generation to walk in faith for a lifetime and daily join King Jesus in fulfilling the Great Commandment and the Great Commission for the glory of God. \nRichard Ross has served as professor of youth ministry in the Jack D. Terry School of Educational Ministries since 2000. His entire life has focused on seeing Christ glorified in the lives of teenagers and their parents and leaders. He served as a local-church youth minister for 30 years. Overlapping part of that time was 16 years of service as the youth ministry consultant at LifeWay Christian Resources. \nRoss prepared for investment in the lives of teenagers through bachelor’s\, Master’s\, and PhD degrees. He has written over 20 books related to teenagers\, youth leaders\, and parents of teenagers. Each year he speaks and preaches in over 40 churches\, conferences\, and conventions. \nGod whispered the idea for the True Love Waits movement to Jimmy Hester and Richard Ross. The first promises of purity were made by members of Ross’ youth group in 1993. Today the movement has been embraced by 100 denominations and national student organizations in the U.S. and by over 100 countries. He is also the Director of Project Development for the Partners in Development Foundation (PIDF)\, a non-profit Native Hawaiian organization providing educational\, social service\, and environmental programming through Native Hawaiian cultural values and traditions. In 2007\, Mr. Goya created the first Two-gen mobile homeless family education program for children living on the Leeward Coast of Oahu\, called the Ka Pa’alana Homeless Family Education Program. To date\, it has served over 3\,000 children ages 0-5 and 3\,000 caregivers\, transitioned 400 families to permanent housing and distributed over 50 tons of food and life necessities. One could say that the entire Christian life is intended to be a life of worship. We’ll talk about worship as a whole-life reality\, and we’ll also spend considerable time exploring the meaning and power of gathered worship with God’s people. He is also the Director of Project Development for the Partners in Development Foundation (PIDF)\, a non-profit Native Hawaiian organization providing educational\, social service\, and environmental programming through Native Hawaiian cultural values and traditions. In 2007\, Mr. Goya created the first Two-gen mobile homeless family education program for children living on the Leeward Coast of Oahu\, called the Ka Pa’alana Homeless Family Education Program. To date\, it has served over 3\,000 children ages 0-5 and 3\,000 caregivers\, transitioned 400 families to permanent housing and distributed over 50 tons of food and life necessities.
