Event Speakers:

Dr. Malcolm Yarnell serves as research professor of theology in the School of Theology, following roles as vice president for Academic Affairs and academic dean at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and associate dean at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the author of numerous books, including God the Trinity: Biblical Portraits (B&H Academic, 2016), The Formation of Christian Doctrine (B&H Academic, 2007), and Who is the Holy Spirit? Biblical Insights into His Divine Person (B&H Academic, 2019), along with contributions to journals such as The Southwestern Journal of Theology and Ecclesiology. Dr. Yarnell has delivered invited lectures at institutions like Oxford University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is a member of academic societies including the Evangelical Theological Society.

Dr. Matt Sanders has served as senior pastor of Waialae Baptist Church since 2015, with a vision to cultivate a disciple-making and disciple-sending community of believers. He holds a Ph.D. in theology from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, a Master of Arts in theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Hawaii, and has taught Greek, theology, and New Testament at Southwestern for nine years, as well as at Wayland Baptist University, Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and Pacific Rim Christian University. With the Trinity as his favorite theological topic, Dr. Sanders also serves as president of the Hawaii Baptist Foundation, managing funds and providing financial support to churches and ministries.
