  • 2021 Worship Conference

    Waialae Baptist Church 1047 21st Avenue, Honolulu, HI

      Dates: October 29, 2021 (7 pm - 9 pm) - October 30, 2021 (8:30 am-2:00 pm) Location: Waialae Baptist Church (1047 21st Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816) Speaker: Zac Hicks REGISTER HERE (*Online livestream option available at registration) Event Overview: We’re all worshipers. We can’t help it. Everything we do in life is driven by worship. The question is, what are we worshiping? In a way, when God saves us, he is issuing a “factory recall” for broken worshipers: the allegiance of our hearts has been given over to all kinds of things other than God, and through Jesus, God calls us back to the only Object of worship that can truly fulfill the deepest longings of our heart. One could say that the entire Christian life is intended to be a life of worship. At this conference, we will learn, biblically and practically, what it means to be more earnest and wholehearted worshipers of God through Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. We’ll talk about worship as a whole-life reality, and we’ll also spend considerable time exploring the meaning and power of gathered worship with God’s people. We will explore significant passages and themes from the Bible. Because we’re talking about worship, this conference is intended for everyone. It will be refreshing and meaningful for pastors, worship leaders, and all other worshipers alike.

  • Christmas Fellowship

    Waialae Baptist Church 1047 21st Avenue, Honolulu, HI

    Join us at 5:00 PM for a time of fellowship in the Fellowship Fall. The deacons will be providing a couple of main dishes, but side dishes and desserts are welcome. So far, we have lined up some games, a gingerbread house competition, Christmas carols led by our seniors, and wreath-making for the homebound. The key pillar of trauma-informed care is the development of “safety and connection” for all people based on strategies that incorporate science and in the case of Hawaiʻi, the inclusion of culture. Trauma affects everyone. As Christians, we need to find healing in understanding our own trauma as well as to become healers by understanding the effects of trauma on others. On August 27, 2021, the Alec and Belle Waterhouse Lecture Series will be hosting a Trauma-Informed Counseling Conference free of charge.   CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NOW!   Event Keynote Speaker: Danny Goya is a trained Trauma Informed Care trainer for the Community Resilience Initiative, a certified family literacy trainer for the National Center for Family Learning, and the founder of Ke Ala Hoaka LLC, a consultancy group specializing in trauma informed strategies. He is also the Director of Project Development for the Partners in Development Foundation (PIDF), a non-profit Native Hawaiian organization providing educational, social service, and environmental programming through Native Hawaiian cultural values and traditions. In 2007, Mr. Goya created the first Two-gen mobile homeless family education program for children living on the Leeward Coast of Oahu, called the Ka Pa’alana Homeless Family Education Program. To date, it has served over 3,000 children ages 0-5 and 3,000 caregivers, transitioned 400 families to permanent housing and distributed over 50 tons of food and life necessities.   • Hanauma Bay Ridge Hike

    This is a scenic and relatively easy hike. Meet in the church parking lot at 2:45 p.m. to carpool to the trailhead. Bring a flashlight and wear shoes with good grip. After hiking, we'll head back to the church for a picnic on the playground. $5.00 suggested donation to cover dinner. Parents are welcome to hike with other parents or help with dinner. Pick-up/end time: 8:15 - 8:30 p.m. Here's a link to some information about the hike. Parents dropping off youth under age 18 will need to complete the permission form below.   • 4th-8th Grade Crab Hunt and Campfire

    Pre-teen & Middle School Crab hunt and campfire. This activity is for students in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. We will meet in the parking lot at 5:30 p.m. to go with youth leaders to Waialae Beach for crab hunting. Then we will return to the church at approximately 7:15 p.m. for campfire, 'smores and saimin on the playground. Parents and siblings are welcome to join us for a worldviews class at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall and then the campfire. Please RSVP to Christopher or Stacy.
