Behind the Lens: Visual Storytelling
A hands on approach to learning how to use digital media to create a story
For ages 12 -18
*Students are required to have access to a smart phone camera during every class, and for at home assignments
What Students Learn
- Broad introduction of the video storytelling process from inspiration to debut
- How to use camera shots, B-roll footage, lighting, script writing, storyboarding, and audio
- Effective techniques for interviewing, presenting, hosting and narrating in front of a camera
- How to edit with a smart phone, iMovie or MovieMaker
- How to work as a team
- How to give and receive constructive feedback
- How to use multi-media to reflect your values
What Students Create
- Individual creative projects both in class and at home
- Collaborative group video productions

Classes will be held at Waialae Baptist Church
(students may be shooting video off campus on one day of class. Parents are responsible for drop off and pick up at the location TBD)
Class will be held from 1:00 to 4:00pm on the following days:
